How to Prep for Lash Extensions & Lash Lifts

The Haute Loft Lash Experience Guide

At The Haute Loft, your lash appointment is designed to be a pause in your day—never rushed, always intentional, and fully customized to you.

Whether you’re booking lash extensions or a lash lift, your preparation plays a major role in how your lashes look, feel, and last.

Here’s how to get the most out of your appointment.

Why Lash Prep Matters

We prioritize quality, retention, and customization over speed.

Proper prep helps:

  • Improve lash retention (how long they last)

  • Ensure clean, seamless application

  • Prevent irritation or sensitivity

The better your prep, the better your results—and your experience.

Arrive With Clean Lashes (No Makeup or Oils)

Please arrive with completely clean lashes.

Avoid:

  • Mascara

  • Eyeliner or shadow

  • Concealer or foundation near the eyes

  • Skincare or oils on the lash line

Residue can interfere with adhesive bonding and affect your final results.

👉 Clean lashes = better retention.

Avoid Caffeine Before Your Appointment

Try to avoid caffeine right before your appointment.

Caffeine can make your eyes flutter, which can:

  • Slow down your service

  • Affect precision

  • Make it harder to fully relax

At The Haute Loft, we create a calm, unhurried environment—this helps you settle into it.

Remove Contact Lenses (If Possible)

If you wear contacts, it’s best to remove them before your appointment.

This helps:

  • Prevent dryness or irritation

  • Keep your eyes comfortable during longer services

Avoid Eye Treatments Beforehand

Avoid the following for 48 hours prior:

  • Retinol near the eyes

  • Chemical peels or facials

  • Lash curlers or DIY treatments

We work delicately around the eye area, so keeping your skin calm is key.

Skip Waterproof Mascara Before Lash Lifts

If you’re coming in for a lash lift, avoid waterproof mascara for 24–48 hours before your appointment.

Waterproof formulas can leave residue that’s difficult to remove, which can affect how your lift processes.

Plan for Aftercare (Especially First 24 Hours)

After your appointment:

For lash extensions:

  • Avoid oil-based products

  • Be gentle—no rubbing or pulling

For lash lifts:

  • Keep lashes dry for 24 hours

  • Avoid steam, sweat, and touching

This ensures your results stay flawless and long-lasting.

The Haute Loft Lash Experience

This isn’t a rushed, in-and-out appointment.

At The Haute Loft, you can expect:

  • A private, appointment-only environment

  • Customized styling (no one-size-fits-all sets)

  • A focus on lash health + longevity

  • Time to relax, decompress, and reset
