Permanent Makeup Aftercare Guide
Healing, Retention & Results | The Haute Loft Experience
At The Haute Loft, permanent makeup is a process—not just an appointment.
Your results develop during healing, which makes aftercare essential for color retention, skin health, and final outcome.
What to Expect During Healing
Healing typically includes:
Slight redness or sensitivity
Light flaking or dryness
Gradual softening of pigment
This is normal and part of the process.
Keep the Area Clean & Dry
For the first few days:
Avoid excessive moisture
Gently cleanse as instructed
Do not soak the area
Clean, dry healing = better pigment retention.
Avoid Touching or Picking
Do not:
Pick, scratch, or peel
Force flaking skin off
This can cause uneven healing and pigment loss.
Avoid Sweat, Sun & Heat
During healing:
No workouts or sweating
Avoid sun exposure
No saunas or steam
These can interfere with pigment settling.
Skip Makeup on the Area
Avoid applying makeup directly over the treated area until fully healed.
This prevents:
Infection
Irritation
Disruption of healing
Follow Your Healing Timeline
Full healing can take:
7–14 days (surface healing)
Up to 4–6 weeks (complete settling)
A touch-up may be needed to perfect your results.
